The Northern Cape Premier’s Education Trust Fund (NCPETF) was established in 1996, under the stewardship of the first democratically elected premier of the Northern Cape, honorable Mr. Manne Dipico. The Northern Cape Premiers Education Trust Fund (NCPETF) is established under and/or by the Trust and Property Control Act No.57 of 1998.
The Honorable Premier Mr. Manne Dipico as the founding member, became the 1st patron of the NCPETF as it was to be an ongoing tradition for all premiers to be patrons of the trust. From the first Patron to date the NCPETF has had the following Honorable Premier’s as Patron:
Ms Dipuo Peters
Ms Hazel Jenkins
Ms Grizelda Cjikella Letsholo
Ms Sylvia Lucas
The NCPETF is governed by a Trust Deed, which may be amended annually through consensus and/or majority vote by an oversight body as referred in the trust deed as the board of trustees.
Over the years of its evolution the NCPETF has transformed from its traditional approach of merely funding and it has incorporated other professionalized services:
Finance,
Administrative student affairs,
Institutional relations and liaison,
Student counselling and support,
Talent identification,
Career and vocational guidance and
Marketing and communications.
This being to advance the strategic objective of the NCPETF to redress socio-economic imperatives and build social cohesion though training and skills development.
The NCPETF as a vehicle to human capital development in the province, strives to promote stakeholder partnership and active participation.
